Why are Vaquita Disappearing?

Vaquita are disappearing due to accidental bycatch in gillnets. Bycatch is a problem for cetaceans worldwide.

I hope that, through increased awareness and concerted conservation and research efforts, we can indeed bring the tiny vaquita porpoise back from the brink of extinction. Thanks for reminding me to continue to avoid buying shrimp or ordering shrimp at restaurants – bycatch leads to marine mammal extinction.
